Dear felt :: feutre canada members,
We started 2019 as a Year of Transition!
In 2018, our founder, and the past President of felt :: feutre canada, Fiona Duthie, stepped down to recharge and pursue her many areas of interest. To say, Fiona left some mighty big boots to fill, is an understatement!
It has been a year of growth with our fair share of bumps along the way. We have all pulled together as a Team, moving forward towards our goals as an organization. We managed to encourage 144 Canadian felt artists to join felt :: feutre canada in 2019, which is fantastic since 2019 wasn’t even a Symposium year.
Your Board, committee chairs and members, volunteer their time, knowledge and expertise to promote felt making across Canada.
I would like to thank the following members:
Sheila Thompson, Exhibition Chair and Exhibition Committee Members: Christianna Ferguson, Janet Tulloch, Anna Mathis, Donna Stockdale, Fay Hodson and Delaine Loucks.
Sandra Barrett, Membership Coordinator.
Lesley Buxton, Media Director.
Rhonda Lamb, Secretary and Workshop Committee.
Tracy Kuhtz, Treasurer
Lois Belluk, Vice President and Workshop Committee.
Their contributions and dedication have added immensely to the culture and identity of felt :: feutre canada. Thank you!
There are challenges with running a Not For Profit Organization, and having a limited budget has been our biggest obstacle. Being fiscally responsible, required that we give our Media Director, Lesley Buxton an extended break from October 2019 to January 2020.
Your membership dues help support our only part-time paid contributor and we’re excited to announce that Lesley Buxton will be returning to her position on Monday, January 13, 2020! If there really is a Santa Claus, then I hope he will also bring us a Tech-Savvy webmaster in 2020 to help us with our Technology headache!
Now is the time to wind-down as 2019 comes to a close. Let’s all take a breath and get reacquainted with our families and friends over the holiday season.
On behalf of your volunteer Board & Committee Members, we look forward to an exciting New Year in 2020.
Thank you for your patience and support in 2019, a year of transition.
