Congratulations to Monica Bennett (British Columbia) for the inclusion of her work in the most recent issue of Felt magazine.
Issue 19 contains an article on the 2017 Felt United theme ‘Collaborations’, featuring felt artist Monica Bennett who collaborated with Nancy Silo and Sandy Shreve to create Into the Deep, also shown at their annual Pender Island show in 2017.
Monica’s current work focuses on the beauty of the land and ocean that surrounds her. Working with a variety of fibres, including locally raised rare breed Cotswold, Icelandic and Romney sheep and alpaca, she explores the ‘small’ things of the natural world, reminding the viewer of those delicate and vulnerable flora and fauna that are often overlooked in a busy world.
