Updated: Nov 5, 2021

We are delighted to see Vinitha John’s work published in the current issue of Fiber Art Now magazine (Volume 6, Issue 1, Fall 2016)!
Vinitha’s work was selected to be profiled in the Fiber Art Now Emerging Artist Showcase by curator and Fiber Art Now Editor in Chief, Marcia Young.
Vinitha is an invaluable member of the felt :: feutre canada team, as well as an extremely talented feltmaker. Here’s a little more about her pieces selected for publication:
“Since 2014, my work has been heavily influenced by organic elements and nature. I have been investing every moment into working with natural dyes and eco printing on silk and wool. The results have been nothing short of magical and mesmerizing. Natural dyes and plants have provided me with my new eco vision collection, Nurtured by Nature.
Each piece is created by me, and a real labor of love. My artistic journey has just begun, and I aim to express my imagination and inspiration in each of my creations.
These seamless coats are first nuno felted and then printed with plants, a process of bundling and steaming, to help the leaves release their pigments. They are created using superfine Italian merino wool, silk fabrics and plants.”
