Chris Liszak :: Meet our new Executive Board President (2021-2022)

Updated: Nov 9, 2021

felt :: feutre canada’s new President! Chris lives and practices her art in the Niagara region. She began felting ten years ago and has been enchanted by the medium ever since.

Her first felted project was a scarf which she made by watching an instructional video. Soon afterwards she made another. It didn’t take long until she was hooked. Not long after that, she bought enough fibre to make a winter coat.

Nowadays she loves to create wearable felt which she sells at craft shows, shops, and online. For the past six years she’s taught at a local fibre shop in Jordan Village. She enjoys sharing her love of felting.

Her work has been showcased in galleries around Niagara and southern Ontario. In addition to this, Chris writes a fabulous knitting blog: Chris Knits in Niagara.

While on the workshop committee, Chris hopes to learn more about organizing large events. She feels her experience running small workshops can bring some insight to the group. About her decision to volunteer she says “I have discovered that sharing ideas, experiences, and results in our medium can open my mind to other possibilities. I believe there is no limit to the exploration of handmade felt.”

We are thrilled Chris is joining us. To learn more about this wonderful artist. Visit her website: https://www.chrisliszak.com/bio
