Marjolein Dallinga :: Exhibit In Prato, Italy (2016)

Updated: Nov 5, 2021

Congratulations to Marjolein Dallinga, whose exhibit The Garden Of Delights opens October 15, 2016 at at the Museo del Tessuto in collaboration with felt :: feutre canada sponsor, DHG (Dyeing House Gallery). The Museo del Tessuto is a textile museum located in Prato in Tuscany, Italy and an important point on the European Route of Industrial Heritage.

The exhibit draws  inspiration from ‘The Garden of Earthly Delights’ by Hieronymus Bosch. A triptych painted by the early Netherlandish painter, Bosch, dated between 1490 and 1510. The piece is considered Bosch’s best and most ambitious surviving work. Art experts often view this work as a stern warning on the perils of succumbing to temptations.

In her interview with DHG, Marjolein expressed that she has “been always fascinated by this painting" and that “the painting has a duality which I see in my own work: monstrousness and tender beauty.” Marjolein has created fourteen fibre pieces for the show.

The show runs from October 15, 2016 to January 29, 2017.

We wish Marjolein success with her amazing project.
